Senior Big Data Engineer – Financial Services

You will play a vital role in building, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale distributed data processing pipelines and data warehousing architectures that drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. Your main responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and optimize large-scale data processing systems, data warehouses, and ETL transformations. Build and manage robust batch and real-time data pipelines leveraging Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Python, and Kafka. Enhance performance through code optimization and system tuning across distributed environments. Manage source code, automated builds, deployments, and task scheduling using Git, XL Release, XL Deploy, and CTRL-M. Work autonomously within a distributed international team alongside counterparts in Paris. You're ideal for this role if you have: 9+ years of experience in software and data engineering. Strong expertise in Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and Python. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases. Experience with DevOps and delivery tooling: Git, XL Release, XL Deploy, CTRL-M, Linux, and APIs. High autonomy, strong organizational skills, and a proactive mindset to thrive in a distributed, international environment. It is a strong plus if you have: Knowledge of Scala or Java. Experience with CI/CD practices and distributed systems architecture. Language required for the role: Good command of English (minimum B2 level).
