1. Needs

With its core activities in the space, aeronautical and industry markets, Active Space Technologies is a well established engineering company focused on the development, design, manufacturing and validation of electromechanical systems. From aeronautical health monitoring systems to aerospace power electronics, the multiple projects currently running at its Innovation Department are bringing cutting edge technologies to the market, contributing for making the world a better place.
Envisioning the growth of the Innovation Department multidisciplinary engineering team, Active Space Technologies seeks entry-level engineers, from several relevant engineering fields (e.g. Electronics, Physics, Aerospace), who are willing to be challenged and develop their skill set within a talented, passioned and cooperative team.

2. Duties & Responsibilities

The duties of the selected engineers will be:
• Researching state-of-the-art technologies;
• Designing digital and analogue electronic circuits;
• SPICE modelling and simulation;
• Developing embedded software for microcontrollers;
• Prototyping and testing electronic systems;
• Producing technical documentation on each step of the development cycle.

3. Minimum Requirements

3.1 Academic Qualification

Higher degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g. Electronics, Aerospace, Physics).

3.2 Key Technical Expertise

The following is required expertise for this vacancy:
• Designing digital and analogue electronic circuits, supported by SPICE simulations;
• PCB layout design;
• Embedded software development for microcontroller systems.

The following expertise is added value for this position:
• Previous contact with Altium Designer is added value;
• Firmware development using C;
• CAN Bus, sensor networks, UART or other serial protocols;
• Designing for ECSSs or aeronautic standards, such as DO-254.

3.3 Languages

• English limited working proficiency required;
• English full professional proficiency is added value;
• Portuguese proficiency is added value;
• Any other language skills may be added value.

4. Availability

From immediate to 1 month.

5. Compensation

€ 14,000 to € 19,000 per annum.
