Responsibilities: » Ensure you and your teams conduct themselves safely at all times and comply with all occupational health & safety, environment, quality & food safety site rules. » Deliver continuous improvement plans for all aspects of the site operations » A key member of the sites Senior Management Team supporting the development and achievement of the business strategy. » Develop strong, clear leadership and vision, translating the site strategy into the Production department and promote continuous improvement, empowerment, career development, motivation, participation and team working. » Lead & manage all aspects of operational activity on the site. The principal areas being, production, CI, pre-press and engineering. » Set & influence your team to achieve all operational targets and operational excellence programmes and deliver measurable continuous improvement whilst looking to reduce costs wherever possible. » Support the maintenance and development of site management systems ie ISO9001, BRC, etc. » Achieve minimum targets in terms of quality (right first time), speed (outputs) and cost (working within budgets) » Strive to identify areas of opportunity to continuously improve machine performance through identification and removal of bottlenecks, technical enhancement and operational procedures, by improving data collection to the full accuracy » Take an active role in developing world class manufacturing principles and assist with the implementation in designated team. » Identify training needs within the team and plan and implement training to meet those needs Requirements » Degree in Engineering or Management is preferred; » Proven senior Operations/Production Management experience, specifically in a manufacturing environment. Ideally with 10 to 15 years of experience; » Experience of successfully managing significant change / transformation projects within a manufacturing environment; » Experience in packaging industry (desirable); » First-hand experience of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies e.g. Six Sigma, Kaizen etc. » Fluent spoken and written English and Portuguese; » Strong leadership and coaching skills » Problem-solver and Customer oriented.
